Terms & conditions

The short version: book a time, turn up, pay in the salon. These terms cover using this site and our app to make that happen.

Who you're dealing with

Booking a time

A booking is confirmed once you see it on screen and get the confirmation message. Until then the time isn't held.
We ask for an email address so we can send you a code and confirm the booking is real. That is what stops the diary filling up with appointments nobody made.
Give us a name and number that reach you. We use them if we need to move your appointment.
Appointment lengths are our best estimate from the services you picked. Hair doesn't always agree, and a stylist may need a little longer.

Prices

The prices on our services page are a starting point. Thick, long, or previously coloured hair can take more product and more time, and the final price may be higher. Your stylist will tell you before they start, not after. Some services are marked as a consult — those need a look in person before anyone can quote them.

Payment happens in the salon. We don't take payment or deposits through this site or the app.

Changing or cancelling

Your confirmation has a link to your booking. From there you can move it to another free time or cancel it yourself.
Please give us as much notice as you can. A late cancellation is a chair nobody else could book, and a stylist sitting idle.
If you're running late, call us. We'll fit in what we can in the time that's left, and we may have to reschedule the rest.
We'll only move or cancel your appointment ourselves if we really have to — illness, or something closing the salon. We'll contact you and find another time.

Your hair, and what we need to know

Tell us about allergies, sensitivities, scalp conditions, medication, or any colour or chemical treatment you've had elsewhere — including home colour and box dye. It changes what is safe to do. For colour services we may need to patch test first, and we may decline a service if we don't think it can be done safely or will give you the result you're after.

Hair is not identical from one head to the next, so results vary. If you aren't happy with something we've done, tell us within seven days and we'll have you back in to put it right.

Your account

Signing in is a one-time code to the email address you booked with. Keep access to that inbox private — anyone who can read it can see your bookings.
Don't use someone else's details to book, and don't make bookings you don't intend to keep.
We may refuse or remove a booking that looks automated, abusive, or made in someone else's name.

Using the site and the app

Use them to book and manage your own appointments. Don't try to break into them, scrape them, overload them, or pull out other people's information. We do our best to keep them running, but they may be unavailable from time to time for maintenance or for reasons outside our control.

The Salty Coconut Staff app is for our own team. It needs a staff account we issue, and it isn't for client use.

Where we stand

Nothing here takes away rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law, including guarantees that our services are provided with due care and skill. Beyond those rights, we aren't liable for indirect loss — for example, missing something else because an appointment ran late or a reminder didn't arrive. Reminders are a courtesy, not a guarantee: the booking is yours to remember, and you can always check it on the My bookings page.

Changes, and which law applies

We may update these terms; the version on this page at the time you book is the one that applies, and the date at the top tells you when it last changed. These terms are governed by the law of South Australia.
